In the October issue meet a Tonka Bay native whose travel business is all about family adventure.

At the end of long summer days, Deb Zeller enjoys taking leisurely walks around the grounds of Parley Lake Winery, taking in the fresh air and setting sun. “I like to stroll the grounds, especially as the sun starts to get lower in the sky,” Zeller says.

 

It goes without saying that the competition is stiff in the local beer scene. Lake-area residents—and our city-dwelling neighbors, too—can choose from an ever-expanding list of quality breweries and taprooms when they’d like a fresh, local pint.

 

The story of Bootleg begins in the clubhouse at a country club on Lake Minnetonka, during Prohibition. A group of friends finished a round of golf and indulged in the newly crafted beverage.

 

Mollie Krengel’s life is all about balance. She’s a businesswoman and a mom. Full of energy and full of calm. She’s always engaged in the world around her, whether she’s cozying up at her parents’ home on Lake Minnetonka, or traveling around the globe with her own kids.

The 100th year of St. Bartholomew Catholic Faith Community’s history in Wayzata is drawing to a close.

 

Restaurant ninetwentyfive opened at the end of June at the Hotel Landing in Wayzata. The menu features New American cuisine, combining traditional American flavors and cooking techniques with fresh produce, meats and cheeses.

 

Gina and Scott Davis launched their family business, Dog Threads, in late 2014, and had their first retailer, Lucy & Co., even before their line had officially been released.

 

Lily Smith, co-founder of Crisp and Green, grew up and went to high school in Wayzata. The fast-casual restaurant opened here last November. (A second location opened in Minneapolis in March.)
